Cyrtosperma johnstonii was first described in 1882 and is native to the wet tropical biome of the Solomon Islands. This Aroid is valued for its large, striking leaves and unique appearance. Its lush foliage, often with prominent veining, adds a touch of exotic beauty to gardens, indoor spaces, or ponds where it can be grown semi-aquatically. Large, arrow-shaped leaves with red and pink veins on long, spiny petioles with pink, brown, and red streaks. When given time to mature these plants can boast massive leaves and extremely unique inflorescences!
These plants that we have available were produced via tissue culture from the original mother plant belonging to our previous Head Grower Brett Cypress who entered the plant into TC on December 8th 2022. Tissue culturing a new species is a labor of love and we believe that these plants were well worth the wait! #EveryPlantHasAStory
