Aglaonema 'Leprechaun' developed as a mutation that was found within a large population of Aglaonema 'Silver Bay' plants. Aglaonema 'Leprechaun' exhibits the same variegation as the parent but is dwarf, more highly branched, and grows in a rounder overall form compared to Aglaonema 'Silver Bay'. Aglaonema 'Leprechaun' was isolated, propagated by tip cuttings, and evaluated for a 3-year period. After testing by the University of Florida's Foliage Plant Breeding Program at the UF/IFAS Mid-Florida Research and Education Center (MREC) in Apopka and following grower trials, the mutation has been determined to be stable and suitable as a new cultivar.
For best color and growth provide with bright indirect light, Aglaonema will also grow well in medium to low light conditions. Allow top 2" of soil to dry between watering, but is a very forgiving plant if you forget to water occasionally - perfect plant for beginners! Keep above 60F.
