The sterile fronds are small, lobed, with slightly pubescent margins held on short stalks forming a mat at the base, the fertile fronds are divided into narrow pinnae that can reach net ween 6-8” tall on stems like antennae.
As we research this remarkable fern we have learned that the accepted species name is Hemionitis pilosa.
