Hoya obscura is endemic to the southern part of the island of Luzon, Philippines. It is a small to medium sized Hoya with compact bushy growth that looks great in a hanging basket. The leaves will be a deep green when grown in shade, and will turn a deep bronze red when given more light. It is a heavy bloomer during the warmer months, its dainty flower clusters are flat and made up of fuzzy cream to pink balls of fluff with a yellow center. Sweet and fruity scent that wafts a considerable distance especially in the evenings. Seems to be ALMOST immune to pests like aphids and mealy bugs who will generally ignore this Hoya in favor of something more appetizing. Like most Philippine species it likes to be watered regularly during summer.

~Do Not let Hoya sit in excess water. As epiphytes, in the wild they would be growing on tree trunks or branches in the forest understory where they would get most of their water just from dew or moisture in the air.

~Hoya are considerably hardy & tolerant of a wide range of growing conditions, but for the best growth it is recommended to provide higher levels of humidity.

~Do Not remove the peduncles [flower stalks] after your Hoya has finished flowering. Hoya are able to rebloom again & again from the same peduncle!

~Feed regularly during the growing season with a low nitrogen fertilizer containing sufficient amounts of phosphorous and potassium.
